Day 15: I am Thankful for Great Teachers

My kids have had the best teachers at Lincoln. I know I've said it before but Conner's teacher is Mrs. Schofield and she is so awesome. Today Neil got to go and volunteer and do our first science experiment. We both wanted to do it but he won out this time since he hasn't been to the class yet and always hears me talking about how wonderful it is. I don't know if he was supposed to but he took an hour of their time and Mrs. Schofield just went with it. He brought 6 various 2 liters of sodas and when you drop a mint mentos in it they form a ton of gas and shoot out of the bottle up to four feet in the air. It is so cool. The kids thought it was awesome and Neil had a blast. Conner was Neil's little assistant and wrote down all the observations and surveyed his class. Next month we're going to build and shoot rockets out of water bottles. I just can't say enough about teachers who involve the parents and make learning fun. A teacher's attitude can totally change how a child feels about school. Conner's kindergarten teacher Mrs. Laufiso saw how Conner excelled in math and gave him some books to keep which is what taught him about negative numbers. Sam's teacher is really pushing Sam to read more challenging books. When a teacher has 25 other students to worry about it just makes me so happy when they are able to recognize my kids' talents and help them excel. I was a teacher so I know how challenging it is and I appreciate the wonderful job all these great teachers do every day. I love sending my kids to school and they love going!
