Day 10: I am Thankful Neil has a Job
I am so thankful that my husband, who's degree is in Family History, has a good job that he enjoys and that provides enough for our family that I am able to stay home. I take it for granted that this recession has devastated so many people and yet we live our lives the same as we always have. Neil was laid off 5 1/2 years ago and I remember the immediate stress it caused not knowing how long he would be out of a job (only lasted 2 weeks). At that time Neil had much more faith than I did. All I could think about was Sam was due in 2 months and we would not have insurance and the birth would most likely not be covered by another plan because it was a preexisting condition. A huge blessing came when Neil got a job with the church and Sam was covered and Neil has been so happy ever since. He loves working for the church. Before he worked for a company whose main if not only goal was to make money at whatever cost, whereas with the church their main goal is to spread the gospel. There's no profit to be made. Since he loves it, I love it. I've said it so many times, I'd much rather have a modest income and have a husband whose happy and is able to be home when he's home and help out, than have a large income with a stressed out spouse who's never home.
