New Year's

This year we opted to stay in Layton for New Year's Eve. We got together with 8 other families for a night of fun at the church. The Blacks hosted and had an awesome set up. Games were played on the stage. The wii was projected on a wall for the dance party and was hooked up to some mega speakers. There was another tv set up with some other video games for the kids. Everyone brought some yummy snacks and we just talked, played and danced the night away. Neil and I were the top scorers on wii dance. Everybody thought we must do it all the time. Little did they know it was my first time ever doing it holding a controller. Neil and I had to do a ltitle show down and guess who pulled ahead at the last minute to win victory, to a MJ song at that. That's right, ME! Hey all that drill team in high school is paying off. Conner spent most of the night speed stacking and teacher others. Sammy played and danced. Mikey ran around chasing the other kids most of the night and Lucy was quite the dancer. I love watching her shake her little body. We had a great time and look forward to next year.

We partied until 11:30 and then quickly cleaned up the church. Lucy and baby Brandon kept themselves happy by eating all the leftover chips.

We made it home in time to watch the ball drop and toast and make cheers.

The Hibbert tradition of banging pans continues. I think the kids finally made it to bed around 1 am, even Lucy. Luckily we had 11 o'clock church so everybody slept in.

I was so excited for the New Year. I'm always so excited to be better. I was talking to my brother who said why wait for the New Year, start now so I did. I didn't make any huge resolutions. My main goal is to have a morning schedule. I made a daily check off chart for the year that I keep in my closet. For some reason being able to check off my tasks everyday makes me accountable. My goal is to be done with my morning routine by 10am because that's when I leave for volunteering or meetings. So my routine consists of morning prayers, exercise for 30 minutes, shower and get ready, scriptures, 1 load of laundry (washed, folded and put away) and baby school. I've decided to do baby school every day for 45 minutes instead of 3 times a week for 1 1/2 hours. Mikey likes it better. I also aim to drink 8 cups of water a day, which is really hard for me. I've been really good at my goals so far. With doing laundry every day nothing has a chance to be dirty very long and the kids are surprised to see the outfit they wore the day before already hanging back up in their closet. I still hate it and usually end up folding it that night or the next day but at least it's getting done. I have yet to get everything done by 10 but I'm getting closer. If I get up by 6:15 I think I can accomplish it all.
