I Love Kohls
Have you ever shopped at Kohls? If not, you need to start, especially for kid's clothes. I got a 30% off total purchase coupon in the mail and so I was at the store first thing on Friday morning. (You do have to sign up for their credit card to get the 30% off coupons which I don't usually endorse but as soon as you pay with your credit card you can make a payment on your card right there at the register so you're actually paying cash. Does that make sense?) Kohls also has an awesome return policy. You don't even have to have a receipt. I've seen people take things back that they've already worn, which I don't agree with unless something is wrong with it. Last year my mom and I both bought Lucy a similar Halloween outfit and so I took mine back, even though I had bought it a year previous, they still took it back no questions asked. I shopped the clearance rack for Lucy and came back with 8 complete outfits, tops & matching pants, for $42. That's a little over $5 an outfit for mostly Carter's brand. Take that DI. You couldn't buy a used outfit at DI for that amount. (I know I have a major problem with DI and their pricing of kids clothes. I just feel bad for all the people who shop there thinking they are really being frugal when in actuality if they would just shop clearance they could get new clothes for cheaper. Now when it comes to adult clothes I'm sure they are priced decent I just never look for myself). I also bought her a couple Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas shirts for $2.25 each. I love the holidays! I just need to get her a couple dresses but with these clothes and some hand me downs from Deet, Lucy is set for winter next year. I always buy a year ahead when everything is on clearance. Most of the outfits are fleece or sweatshirts but they are really cute. I have found out over the years that my kids like to wear what's comfortable, just like their momma. I don't dress to impress obviously. I wear what feels good. Last year I bought Conner all these trendy "skater" shirts and what not, trying to help him look like the other kids but all he wants to wear are the fleece pullovers I got from Kohl's last year for $3 and comfy pants or jeans. (Luckily I bought them in every color). When I try to persuade him to wear something else he gets upset and just wants to wear something cozy and soft. So that's what I'm sticking to. Now that Conner will be wearing size 8 next year his clothes are more expensive and I shelled out $7 for a few pair of pants next year. I didn't see any fleece sweatshirts for him so I'll have to keep my eyes open elsewhere. I wish I could say I found stuff for myself but I rarely look for myself. Why is it that I have such a hard time spending money on myself?
