Just Call Him Mr. Fix It

The washing machine faucets that are in the wall started to leak. At first it was just a little drip and then one Tuesday it became a big drip. I was doing laundry luckily so was in and out of the laundry room and one time when I went in there was a huge puddle and I looked up and sure enough big drip. I turned the water off and got a tub to catch the drip so I could finish my load. I think this would be covered by the home warranty but you have to pay a copay of something of $50 and thinking it was just a washer that needed to be replaced, Neil decided to try to fix it himself, even though he has no experience with plumbing whatsoever. I bought several books on home repair so he studied it out and after about 8 hours on Saturday, 4-5 trips to Lowe's he fixed it for about $5. All I can say is what a man, what a man. He took the whole faucet apart and replaced all the "guts". I remember him calling his mom, Mrs. Fix It herself, and she told him, Neil don't you think you should call a plumber? We never considered ourselves fixer uppers or repairmen and I remember my dad telling me, when you own a house you better learn because you usually can't afford to have a pro come and do it. So far we've been doing good. Neil also put all the icicle lights up on the house. It looks so great. I love Christmas lights. Last Sunday we drove around with the boys to look at the lights in different neighborhoods and it was so fun to hear Sammy scream out, "Look, look, reindeer! or Santa!" He is so animated.
