Pumpkin Carving/Coloring FHE

I was planning on doing an FHE on having a house of order (cleaning) but I visited a blog with the best idea about how to tie pumpkin carving into a lesson on the Savior and since we haven't carved pumpkins yet I had Neil pick some up on his way home from work. For any interested the lesson can be found here www.everydayfoodstorage.blogspot.com and look for pumpkin carving. I didn't trust the boys with knives so they got to color theirs with markers. I made the eyes on Sam's and then he went to town. I didn't get a good picture but on the back of Sam's he drew a train track for Peep (Thomas). That kid loves Thomas. Conner did his all by himself. Neil carved the big one. I'm not big into carving since I hate having to try to be cute and clever so I helped the boys and got the seeds ready to bake for tomorrow. The best part of today is we got a package from Nana. As soon as I picked it up off the porch I could smell what was inside--popcorn balls!. I was dying. I love them. So many fond childhood memories are wrapped into each one. I wanted to open it so bad but knew I would have no self control and not knowing how many were in the box if I opened it there may not be any left for the boys. Perfect timing for FHE treats. I hadn't made any of those today either so once again Nana to the rescue. The boys loved them and Conner asked why I got to eat two and him only one. Well I'm the Mommy. We were picking stuff out of our teeth the rest of the night. Neil was glad to see me floss. I'm a popcorn flosser. The only tartar on my teeth are in between them and I can't stand having them scrape my teeth. Everytime they tell me if you'd just floss we wouldn't have to scrape at all. That still hasn't gotten me to floss. Nothing will. Well back to the popcorn--yum yum. Nana sent 20 so hopefully they'll last a couple of days. Here's a couple of cute pictures of the boys with their pumpkins and popcorn balls.

Mikey got his first taste of popcorn balls and loved it. Kept crying when he'd drop it on the floor.

Conner showing his evil face.
Sweet Sam. There are eyes, nose, ears and mouth there if you look closely
