The Eve of Halloween

The other day when I was raking leaves our neighbor Lillian ( a retired military family) came out and told me I should get some of those pumpkin bags (probably since our house is one of the only ones without any Halloween decorations out). I told her I had actually went to the store that day to find some but the two stores I went to didn't have any. I really wanted some but with 3 boys I don't get to do as much looking as I like. Yesterday she came over and brought me some. Now how nice was that. It really meant a lot to me that she took the effort to bring me some and so thoughtful. I had not planned to rake leaves yesterday but needed to to show my gratitude for the bags. I think they are pretty cute and the boys helped fill them up.

As I was looking at blogs yesterday morning I came across these Cake pops on the Pioneer Woman Cooks website and thought they were so cute and I had everything for them so I made them. We really like decorating things. Neil goes all out and does such a good job. The boys had a lot of fun and they are tasty too. I gave some away to the neighbors after covering them with lollipop covers. I didn't want to spend money on styrofoam to put them in and didn't know what I was going to do. Neil took one look around the house at the wood we have and got out his drill and made me some stands so fast. Hey, hey dad, like you said you never know when these tools are going to come in handy. Notice the Mike and Sully ones. Got to keep with the theme of things.

Of course while decorating Sam spilt the sprinkles but no problem my little scavengers cleaned them up for me. Tasty!
I also finished painting the inside of the pantry door. Boy are doors tedious. No wonder people suggest getting them spray painted. Still need to touch up a few places. I am totally pooped today. Neil started working on the pantry and got the sheetrock up and we put the door in to see how it would fit and both got so excited to see that it's almost done and ended up staying up until 2am trying to finish with no luck. We have no experience putting in a door or with anything home improvement actually and when we'd shim it in the doors would end up not matching up and one door would rub against the other when you closed them. Needless to say the doors aren't in and we're not sure what to do. We always said we're not fixer uppers but I know Neil will figure it out. He's figured everything else out so far.
I got tickets today for Wicked. We'll be going with Connie and her mom and sister and Beka. I am so excited. Too bad we have to wait until April to see it. Good thing we got them on presale because it looks like they might sell out today.
