Cleaning Schedule

Hopefully by the end of this week Neil and I will have all the little projects we want done around the house finished and we can live a little more normally. So I am hoping to follow a cleaning schedule. Do a little each day in the morning otherwise cleaning this house is overwhelming and I end up doing nothing. So this is what I am thinking so far:

Monday: Laundry Day--wash all dirty clothes, towels and sheets. This ends up being about 6-7 loads and takes approximately 8 hours. I dread this day but would much rather get it done in one day than do it on several. I'd probably never fold it then

Tuesday: Vaccuum all the carpet and rugs and mop kitchen and living room floor, dust main level

Wednesday: Clean Master Bathroom--Clean shower, jetted tub (if used), toilet, mirror and vanity, scrub floor on hands and knees, wipe down walls and doors

Thursday: Clean Boys Bathroom and Guest Bathroom--Routine same as master

Friday: Vaccuum all the carpet and rugs and mop kitchen and living room floor, dust upstairs

Saturday: Do any monthly tasks such as cleaning out refridgerator, stove, wiping out cabinets, washing blinds, washing windows, cleaning toys, washing walls, ceiling fans and lights, and whatever else I think of.

This house was such a filthy mess when we moved in I am determined to not let it fall into that state again. Hopefully I won't have to spend more than 1 1/2 hours each day on these things. I'd love to get up early and get it done before the boys get up but that probably won't happen. I may do it during nap time. Anyway I am excited to start getting organized and clean. Once I get in the routine the house should stay clean and I'll probably be able to do my daily task in 30 to 45 minutes. I need to get the boys doing chores especially Conner. Sam is the biggest helper and is always willing to help but Conner is as lazy as they come. He has to be bribed pretty much. So far they are making their beds and cleaning up the playroom. I want to make a chart with somethings they can do everyday. If you have any ideas for tasks a 2 and 4 year old can do let me know. I sometimes let Sam put the silverware away after I take all the knives out and he does a great job. I'm going to try to find them some little rakes so they can help rake leaves. I didn't realize but we are the only house in the neighborhood with a lot of trees which means a lot of leaves and raking--oh great but at least the boys will have a job to do and hopefully learn to work. They'll love playing in them once they are in a big pile and will be good helpers putting them in trash bags I hope. I was hoping to buy rakes today and rake for FHE activity but little Mikey is still not awake and it's time for lunch and then naps. I guess it will have to wait until tomorrow.

Reuben loves to dust the parts of stuff that I can't bend over to reach, he also loves cleaning the windows-you know the parts where he and Patrick touch all the time, I spray and he wipes.
