Here We Go

There are several reasons I am finally starting a blog. Reason #1 Peer Pressure--everyone else is doing one. I spend a lot of time looking at other people's blogs, so Neil told me I needed to start my own. It's supposed to be easy right? Reason #2 Moved--We have moved away from Orem where we have spent the last 3 1/2 years and have many friends we would like to keep in touch with, they have also encouraged me to start one. Reason #3--Family All Over the US. I hate that we don't live near all of our family and miss seeing each other's kids growing up and hopefully this will help us all keep in touch better and know a little bit more about my kids. Reason #4 Family History-- I am the worst journal writer. I think in the last 2 1/2 years I have written 3 times (when Sam was born, Mike born and sometime in between). I am hoping this will help me do better. On the other hand I have a husband who writes every day and keep hoping he's keeping a good enough record for our family but I realize he's only home for about 1/4 of the time I am and there's a lot that happens during that time that he is not aware of. So this is going to end up being more of a journal for me with my thoughts and feelings. I am not going to try to make out like I am some supermom and wife and neighbor and that everything is hunky dory 24/7. It's going to be real, how it really is. I hope to share the good and the hard times. It's not going to be grammatically correct or witty and clever, just me. It's not going to be cutesy because those of you who know me know that's not me and I struggle with that. I am sure there will be an occasional post from Neil and he'll definitely spice things up a bit. Reason #5 Pictures--A friend told me she never really took pictures that often of her kids until she started a blog and now she never leaves home without her camera. Reason #6--For me. Since we've moved and don't have any friends yet this is for me to unwind when I have no one else to talk to. So here goes. Wish me luck!
