Tasting Table
About every 3 to 4 months I try to clean out the freezer of all those half empty packages of frozen impulse buys from Costco. Tonight was the night and the kids love it. We call it a tasting table and everyone gets to try one or two of whatever I dig out of the depths of the freezer that's not enough to make a meal out of. So today I found some fish sticks, tater tots, mini egg rolls and spicy buffalo chicken bites. There was also some little smokies I needed to use so I made pigs in a blanket as well as rolls and Caesar salad. That made me feel like I was feeding my family something homemade. It was funny to see all the trading that took place. Conner wanted all the fish sticks and thus gave up all his chicken bites and Sam wanted all the chicken bites. Nobody liked the egg rolls yet again (not to self, never buy egg rolls again, they never get eaten) and everyone wanted the piggies. I made the rolls to look like slugs from turbo since Neil loved that movie. It was a fun and easy dinner. Can't wait for the next tasting table in a couple months, minus the egg rolls.
