Sam earned his special date by doing his chores for 25 days. Like Conner, he too chose to go to Lagoon by himself. It was Neil's turn to go so they headed out the door Saturday as soon as it opened. The weather did not cooperate. It was cold, cloudy and rainy. They were there for about 3 hours and Sam was so wet and cold he was ready to go home. His favorite ride was the Odysea because he kept making sure Neil got squirted which added to the coldness factor. After Lagoon they stopped at Menchies on their way home for a special treat.
We promised the other kids we'd go to Lagoon after dinner so we made it down there around 6. We were able to ride a few rides and then the rides were closed. We had no clue they were closing the park early. I guess they didn't have enough people there to justify being open and the weather like I said was dreary. Well the boys were not anticipating the closure and we had a couple major fits to deal with. We are planning to go back on Monday and the weather should be decent.
They were happy for a moment.
I've got to give a shout out to Neil. On Tuesday he was in charge of a huge training for his department up in Park City. He's been working so hard on it he had put in over 40 hours by the end of Tuesday so he asked if he could take Friday off which was approved. What did he do with a day off. He put up a new ceiling fan in our family room. Trying to update the house a little at a time. I bought an auto balancing fan which was not autobalancing. He spent several hours trying to get it to stop wobbling and he was determined to succeed which he did. It looks awesome. He took the old fan and put it in the boys bedroom, which didn't have a fan. It's too big for the room but it will have to do for now since it's free. The boys are so happy to have a ceiling fan instead of the loud rickety floor fan we've been using. It's really hot in their room at night. He also finished fixing our sprinkler lines that were broken and the leak we had at the main. Hopefully we'll be able to save our grass now. Neil never ceases to amaze me!
