Happy Mother's Day to Me

I have been saving most of my birthday money for 4 years now in hopes of having enough to someday buy a bosch mixer.  I don't even have a Kitchenaid.  Can you believe that a person who cooks and bakes all the time uses her Grandma's 30 year old stand mixer but mostly a hand mixer and 3 bread machines.  I had heard that the only time there are deals on boschs are mother's day and Christmas so yesterday was the day.  I ended up getting one and since on the day you buy the mixer they give you a huge discount on the attachments I went ahead and got an extra bowl, cookie paddles and blender.
This mixer is able to knead 6 loaves of bread at once.  I can't wait.  I should have bought it at the beginning of the week to use for my cooking extravaganza when I was making 6 dozen rolls.  Oh well.  I made it through.  I was too wiped out from last week to make anything but tomorrow I have big plans.  I have it set up in it's permanent location on my counter and have just been admiring it and am just in love.

As to be expected I had a great Mother's Day.  All I wanted to do was sleep which I did on and off for most of the day so here I am at almost 2 am not able to sleep.  The vicious cycle.  I had all those tissue flower bouquets so we took one to our neighbor Lillian who is like a Grandma to us and visited for a while and then took one to Lola, a widow as well.
Here's all the gifts the kids made me.  Neil hung them up above my bedside stand, my mother's day shrine.  They were so cute and excited.  The gift that Conner had bought with his own money was a box of ice cream snickers, one of my favorite treats.  He also made a coupon book and was so proud of his gifts.  I've got the best job in the world, being a mother to my four kiddos.
