I love seeing the kids read to each other.
Neil and I went to see one of our favorite bands, Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband. We sat on the second row. They have such fun music. It was such a fun night. Neil and I met at one of their concerts so it is always a special treat.
The kids completed the Governor's reading challenge this summer and so they received free kids' meals to Chuck a Rama, our favorite restaurant!
Neil and I also went on a date to hear the Utah Symphony. He got free tickets from work and so we thought we would try to be a little cultured but realized it's just not our thing and left at intermission. It was weird. No one moved while they symphony was playing. No one scratched their face, crossed their legs, whispered to the person next to them. It was really weird. Now I grew up playing in the high school band and I realized I love the big band sound with trumpets, saxophones and trombones. The stringed instruments were pretty but once again just not my thing, it also could have been the music they were playing.
Trying to rip up the linoleum in the family room. What a time consuming task. We had to get the kids in on the action.
Lucy is little Miss Independent and often prefers to play by herself than to play with me but I was able to coerce her into putting puzzles together with me by making a game and seeing who could finish theirs first. She had a 50 piece and I had a 100 piece one. She finished hers first and came over to help me. She's really good at putting puzzles together. As we were finishing she says, "mom we make a really good team don't you think?" I said yes Lucy we do. It was such a sweet moment.
Yep just give me a book or turn on the tv and I am out.
My poor sweetie lays on the floor so that he'll only sleep a couple minutes but you can never wake him up.
The boys have been sleeping on their Koopa shells from last Halloween.
Our friend found this huge bug at a property and thought our boys might like it and he was right.
