It's Beginning to Look Alot Like Christmas

I have finally current with my blogging.  What a relief.  Hopefully now I'll be able to record more of those sweet everyday moments that I want to remember.

We're trying real hard to get into the Christmas spirit this year but it's hard.  Since we were gone for Thanksgiving we weren't home to decorate as we usually are and the kids are really disappointed the house isn't decorated yet.  Mikey gets really sad and nervous that Santa won't come and our elf Mr. Poppinkins hasn't shown up yet either.  He's been praying fervently that we'll be able to get the house decorated before Christmas.  We did get the outside decorated on Saturday and Neil pulled out the tree today but half the lights didn't work so it didn't get put up.  We'll get there this week I hope
We did attend Festival of Trees.  We didn't bring the stroller in, thinking we would just carry Eliza.  We should have known better that she would not stay in our arms.  Luckily I had her wear her red squeaker shoes, which are so cute, so I could hear her even when I couldn't see her.  She loves them.  She prances around in them.  She brought smiles to so many peoples' faces.
Today after church, Eliza went and pulled the stool over and got down these slippers all by herself and put the santa hat on.  She was so happy.

On Friday night, Lucy and I went to Presley's dance of the Nutcracker.  Pres did such a great job.  It was a lot of fun to be out with just Lucy.  Afterwards we were both starving so we went to Olive Garden because Lucy just LOVES alfredo as does the momma.  As we were sitting there Lucy leaned over and gave me a big hug and said I love being with my mom!  It's been awhile since I've done anything with just Lucy and it was great.  She is quite the little talker.  Never a dull pause with her.
