The Next Ken Jennings?

Conner absolutely loves game shows. He'll watch them over anything else. Since he's started school he no longer is able to watch The Price is Right, his first love, which is kind of sad but he has found some new ones. He often sleeps until 3 while the other two boys sleep longer so when he gets up I let him watch Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and afterwards Deal or No Deal Comes On. He loves them and when they are over or when he doesn't get to watch them he plays them with me or whoever will play with him, on the Doodle Pro or my favorite on the back french doors with washable markers. He seriously plays these games for a couple hours a day and if I won't play (I can only take so much), he'll get Elmo and stand him up beside him and Elmo is the contestant. I try to get him to play them with Sam but Sam like I can only take so much. On Monday for FHE I decided we'd play a gospel centered Millionaire and went to the store to get poster board and everything to make the game all cool. Well it got late and I was tired and took a nap instead so I was sad that I wouldn't have time to make the game. Instead I got online and found a power point of Millionaire where you could add your own questions and it looked like the real game interface. I was so excited. So we played it and I wish I could have video taped Conner. It was like he was on the real game show. He was so intense. He got to use his life lines and for two questions he called Beka and Nana. Thanks so much for playing along. I was dying inside. I couldn't get over that kid. He cracks me up. Poor Neil though. Tonight there was 30 minutes to bedtime and I was finishing up baths with Mikey and Sam and Conner was done and had snuck out of the bathroom and shut the door behind him. I went to check on him and Millionaire was on on prime time and Conner was so excited. Neil came up and asked the boys if they wanted to play and Conner said not tonight I want to watch Millionaire. I think that broke Neil's heart. A game show more fun than him. I guess it was a little reality check. One day our kids aren't going to think we're that cool but come on let's not start out at age 5.

Oh that is so funny. What a great story. Take pictures and definitely keep record of all this--not only for others who want to hear it but for Conner when he's older. Maybe this love for gameshows will stick with him when he's older. Who knows.
