Thanksgiving

Okay so Thanksgiving is only a week away. I have the dinner menu pretty much planned but not the dessert menu. In my family we would often have 10 or more pies and I have kept the tradition alive. So far I have 8, I'm thinking about but I'm not doing just pies because you know what, I really don't like pie all that much. I prefer cakes and cookies. I'm going to try to make everything bite size except for the pies which you can just take a sliver of. That way you can try everything and not overindulge too much. I know that is not going to stop me however. I know most people are dieting around the holidays so I feel bad tempting them but I can't help myself I love sweets and Thanksgiving is the time to go all out. So far I'm thinking of making a traditional pumpkin pie for me, pecan for Neil, striped delight pie, rolo cookies, some kind of cheesecake bites, carrot cake bites, pumpkin roll, white chocolate mousse tarts, sour cream apple pie. I like trying one or two new things each year so I'm thinking of lemon meringue or a blueberry. I don't know or maybe a new kind of brownie. I have yet to get all my cookbooks out. I need to go through them and see what I can find. If it were up to me everything would be chocolate, I'm addicted right now but there are other people eating too. It's crazy to me to think that for this one meal I will spend as much on it as I would on two weeks of groceries. I do think it is worth it though. I just hope everything turns out or now that would be sad. We still haven't figured out why the outlets in the garage don't work so I still don't have a freezer and I need one by next week because I was hoping to make all the desserts next week and freeze them. I just thought of cream puffs. Boy I love my cream puffs but I definitely need to get the freezer going otherwise I'm in for trouble.
