Now Kristin is very much a planner and always knows something fun to do. As we don't have cable, I had never heard of the show Dives, Diners and Drive-in's (?) on the Food Network but Kristin was aware of a place in Roy, 5 minutes up the road, that was featured on the show. How cool is that so we had to go to lunch there on Saturday. They are famous for their Big Ben and boy was it big. I was totally craving grease and boy did their deepfried onion rings, mushrooms and fries hit the spot. Kristin and I got a strawberry shake to share, delicious. If she's ever up this way again we're going to go to Maddox, a restaurant in Perry. I went probably 10 years ago and still remember their fried chicken. Probably some of the best I've ever had and it's skinless, so it's healthy right. When I make fried chicken I usually take the skin off but it's not that good. This place was so good. Now I got myself salvating.
Neil was nice enough to watch the kids so Kristin and I could do a little shopping. Neither one of us found anything but I guess that's a good thing for the pocketbook. Kristin also snuck out Saturday morning and got us all Krispy Kremes. The boys were so excited because who doesn't like a donut. Had a great time and made me homesick for all my friends down south.
