My First 5K and Demolition

Beka asked me to run a 5K with her awhile ago and being as it is on my list to complete I said sure but started having second thoughts the closer it got.  With our house projects going on I have not exercised since the beginning of March and knew I was not in shape at all.  Allison came too and I decided I would try to jog as long as I could.  I jogged to the 2 mile mark and then got stopped for awhile at a stop sign and lost my momentum and pretty much walked and jogged a little the rest of the way.  I finished in 37:52, my personal best and only record.  I know it's nothing to brag about just something to improve on.  I was proud of myself for finishing.  I tried sprinting at the very end as everyone was cheering but just about threw up.  I saw Allison ahead of me the whole time and could not catch up.  I waited for Beka and she was sprinting hard at the end.  I am so proud of the two of us for completing it.  I've always been scared of 5k's and realized I just need someone with me to push me because it's so easy to stop and say I'm tired when I'm alone.  We'll see if Neil and I can find the time to get out and go together.  I've gained even more weight so I could definitely use the exercise.

Neil also started demolition on the fireplace and so there is no turning back.
I am so nervous because really we don't know what we're doing but I've read a lot of blog tutorials and am so excited at the same time!

Great job on the 5K Amy! And excited to see how the fireplace turns out, way to DIY! I have so many projects in my head, I need to start doing them. It's good to take the leap of faith
