The Good and Bad of the Week

Let's start with the good.  Conner has made it to the district Math Olympiad competing in the KenKen competition.  Ken Ken is like Sudoku but it goes to a higher level using number sentences to come up with the correct answers.  It was his goal to win in his class and he would practice every day and he came in 1st place.  The district competition is May 22nd so he has a lot of time to increase his speed.

Soccer has started and Neil is still coaching the 3 boys teams.  All the teams seem to be pretty good and the boys seem to be enjoying it.

Now onto the not so good.  We still have not gotten to the painting.  Have yet to pick out a paint color we both like.  I have painted the doors and mantle with three coats of paint and one coat on the trim. I'm hoping to paint one more coat tomorrow.  The walls are primed.  It's just hard to find the time.  I just can't paint when Eliza is up.  I've tried and twice she's gotten into it and the last time was pretty bad so I've had to stop.  If I try to do it while she's napping by the time I get everything set up and ready to go it's time to stop again and then at night I'm just too tired.  Allison said she'd take the girls if I wanted to paint one day this week.  I'm thinking Wednesday will be the day.

We are really struggling with Lucy with her running off and not listening.  She is very strong willed and wants to do what she wants no matter what anyone says.  It's to the point where I can't leave the house with her for awhile.  We've had too many close calls lately.  My SIL calls it the Feisty Fours and I had never experienced it before until now.  Lucy is definitely feisty.
