Silly Sayings

When the kids are really loud and obnoxious and I get to where I can't take it anymore I will tell them to quiet down or I'll smack their faces off. I don't know where it came from and of course I don't mean it so I really shouldn't say it. Mikey thinks it's a really funny saying so he will say it randomly and just crack himself up. Well today he was riding scooters all day with Elijah and having the best time until he tripped and fell and stubbed his thumb. He started crying so hard and you could tell it really hurt. I tried to console him with hugs and kisses but with not much luck so I thought maybe if I try to make him laugh. I didn't want his day to end on a sour note so I said in a funny voice, "Mikey why don't you just smack my face off?" He stopped crying, paused and looked at me kind of funny and then really smacked me in the face hard. I was dumbfounded. What just happened here? Oh wait I just told my kid to smack me in the face and he actually did it. He really started laughing and so did I almost uncontrollably by what had just occurred. When else do you get away with slapping your mom in the face. Needless to say he forgot about his hurt thumb.
