Last Days of Summer

After getting back from Georgia we only had two weeks before school started so we tried to make the most of it and do fun things but between doctor/dentist appointments we didn't get to do as much as we would have liked but we all had a great time. This past Saturday we were able to attend Hyrum Wride's baptism. The Stake Primary Presidency makes each child a keepsake box and each person in attendance is able to write a little note to the baptized. I love that idea so I wanted to jot it down so I'd remember it. Conner is only a year away. Since we were down in Salt Lake we thought we'd have one last final family hurrah so we went to Planet Play an arcade/pizza buffet. The kids go crazy for electronic games and had a great time.
This skeeball machine never ran out of balls so Lucy kept herself entertained for quite awhile here.
Conner got the jackpot on this game and was so proud. He even had some adults watching him play.
Mikey really wanted to play air hockey so Neil obliged.
Mikey really wanted to play air hockey so Neil obliged. I like this place but I have to say I like Chuck E Cheese better because it's safe. I don't have to worry about my kids being kidnapped. All the games are one token and so they understand when their tokens are gone there's no more games. This place you had to load money on a card and the games ranged from .55 to 2.00+ and Mikey and Sam didn't understand that. Also all our cards had .10-.40 left on them and we couldn't play a game with it so they made an extra $2.oo off us. Not a big deal but a sneaky practice I think. Planet Play did have better prizes though. We walked out of there with a generic lego set, magic eight ball and bad mitten set along with a few rinky dinky rings and toys.
I took the kids to Iceberg one night when Neil was on a campout with the young men. All Lucy would eat was french fries and ice cream. She just plopped herself down and stuffed herself with ice cream.

Allison wanted to watch the kids for me on a Tuesday and it just happened to be the same day as Disney Days at the Gallivan Center. It was totally free and awesome.
Mikey had to ride the train of course.
Conner jumped in at the last moment.
There were all kind of little carnival games the kids could play and the prize was these miniature card decks. I think we came home with 10. They'll be a perfect addition to our 72 hour kits.
I just had to share this picture to remind myself that my boys aren't the only ones who pick their nose constantly.
Conner and Sam did this Minute to Win It challenge and completed it in 60 seconds. They each scored a 2 free games of bowling at Boondocks.
The Dairy Council was giving away string cheese and I couldn't resist getting their milk moustaches taken with the cow.
Here they are watching the magician. He was the corniest magician I have ever seen but as you can see the kids loved it and were busting a gut.
Jaxson and Sammy showed off their dance moves on the dance floor.
Sam was so good he was picked to go on stage and participate in a quiz show about Phineus and Ferb.
Before we left the kids needed to cool off in the falling water. Conner loved giving himself a mohawk although I'm sure he would never be caught dead sporting one to school. He likes his hair to be smooth. While Allison watched the kids I had lunch at the Olive Garden, went to the temple and ran a few errands.

We also went to the zoo. The highlight was finding all the dinosaurs hidden.
Sam getting squirted by the baby raptor.
Lucy loved the water ball and got soaked.
We had to ride the train even though it is so not worth the money.
We went to the train museum which is always fun. It was Lucy's first time. Mikey didn't want to leave so I told him that when the boys were in school we'd be able to come all the time but to keep it a secret. He's been reminding me every day about that promise. That will be Mikey's special time with Mommy.
