Mikey got to go to a friend's house after school today and Lucy got upset that she didn't get to go and she actually started bawling because she wanted to go to someone's house. There are no girls in our neighborhood or ward her age so there is no where to go or invite over. There are several homes for sale in the neighborhood and I pray a family with a 4 year old girl moves in. I guess I could invite one of the boys over but we always have a ton of boys here. I asked her where she wanted to go and she said Sis. Black's house. Uh oh. Last week Rachel asked if she could watch the kids to give me a break. Mikey was at school and Eliza was asleep and so it was just Lucy and she had the time of her life. Rachel must have been her personal play mate and so today she wanted to go back. She insisted on running over there to see if she was home all through tears. I told her we should call first but that it wasn't a good time because we needed to have lunch and then naps. I told her I wanted to make a dessert for dinner and that I needed her help. That perked her up. I realize it's not good to start her on the road of emotional eating at such a young age but what do you do. We are trying out these caramel apple cheesecake bars. Once we were done she began to play with Eliza and then we played. As she went to lay down she gave me a hug and said, "Mom, you're my best friend!". Yes Lucy I will always be your best friend and so will Eliza.
Speaking of Eliza, l ast night as we were beginning FHE I put Eliza on the table for a second and she began to get a little crazy crawling all over it and laughing and squawking like a rabid dog. It was hilarious and we were all very entertained and laughing our heads off. I had to get a video of it but as soon as I pulled at the camera she toned it down but it was still pretty cute. I love how in this video I'm completely jumpy and freaking out that she's going to fall off the table and Neil's the calm one. Our roles were definitely reversed here.
