The Eagles Are Coming

Conner is doing a project on the bald eagle and his teacher told me about bald eagle day out at Farmington Bay and so we knew we had to go.  In the past, you could often see over 400 bald eagles on the preserve.  We had wanted to go as a family but I was helping with PAL testing and so Neil had to take the kids by himself.  He was kind of stressed that Saturday and it ended up being a little bit of a disaster.  It should have only taken 20 minutes to get there but he got lost and could not find it and it took over an hour to find it.  By that time the kids were hungry and Eliza was tired and Neil had forgotten her bottle.  It was very busy so he couldn't take the stroller and was left carrying her everywhere.  Because of West Nile virus, the workers did not put carp out and so they had not spotted many eagles this year and so it was a little disappointing.  There were lots of little exhibits that the kids enjoyed.  I have been so proud of Conner.  His project is due March 6th and he started working on it 3 weeks ago but this past week he lost his thumb drive and has to start over.  Poor boy.
