Christmas

I am finally posting about Christmas. We had a wonderful White Christmas. Neil and I stayed up until 2am wrapping gifts and making final meal preparations. We were so exhausted yet so excited. This is the first time the kids really understood what Christmas was about. They don't know too much about Santa but they know they get gifts. I was so excited to give Sammy those trains I was wide awake at 6am hardly able to contain myself so I went ahead and showered and dressed. (Isn't that against the law on Christmas). The boys woke up around 7 am and we just played on the bed awhile with them jumping and Sam hit his head a couple times so was a little tearful as he came down the stairs. We opened gifts from 7 until 11:30 because as soon as they opened a toy they wanted to play with it. Around 8:30 we ate breakfast which is the traditional breakfast casserole with orange julius. We had wanted to give Sam the trains last but I couldn't stand it and had to give them to him early. From then on he didn't even look at his other gifts. He was consumed with the trains. We practically had to force him to open the others. Seeing him play with the trains and get so excited made me so happy and brought tears to my eyes. I knew he would love them and he did. It sure made our Christmas. Here it is a week and a half later and he still plays with them all day everyday. It's amazing. I thought the newness would wear off by now. He sleeps with some every night in his bed. He covers them up with his blanket, so cute. I remember my mom telling me of her dad looking high and low to find her a certain doll with brown hair like hers when she was a little girl and how much that meant to her. Now I understand how important that was to her father and how happy he must have been to be able to give it to her. We tried so hard to get the kids to take a nap because we were dying but they were so excited they couldn't sleep. They at least stayed in their rooms and read their new books for awhile.

For Christmas Eve dinner I made a pasta and shrimp meal that Neil loved. We made spritz cookies (the cookie press fought me all the way but it had to be so or it wouldn't be a Leet Christmas) for Santa. Kim and Beka stopped by and that was a nice surprise. The boys had to have a bath and then we put out cookies and milk for Santa and carrots for the reindeer. They got to open one gift, which was from Nana and Poppa. We then read 3 Christmas books and put them to bed.

We took more video then pictures so this is my first time posting video. I hope our families who weren't able to be with us and get a glimpse of what Christmas was like here. I know there's a lot of Sam but those trains made our Christmas and melted our hearts. Thanks to my hubby who spent the last 3 hours helping me figure how to edit the movies.

2 am Christmas morning

Here are the boys coming down the stairs first thing Christmas morning

The boys seeing what Santa got them

Mikey was so sad no one would let him play with their new toys. Oh wait a minute did someone say gummy bears

Oh boy, do I love gummy bears. They are just small and soft enough for me to eat with my limited teeth

Mikey was kind of got in Conner and Sam's way Christmas morning and was really making them mad so I let Mikey look on his stocking and what did he find but a big bag of gummy bears. He was finally content and just sat and ate the whole bag and it was a huge bag but I figured he was happy and besides it's Christmas.

I think Conner's favorite gift had to be this Price is Right DVD game. I found it this summer at a garage sale knowing it was right up his alley. From the time he was born until we moved into this house (CBS doesn't come in real good here and we're not paying for cable) he watched it everyday. I think that's part of the reason he loves numbers so much. It's actually a pretty fun game if you're a TPIR fanatic like we are.

The big moment finally arrives.

I thought it was so cute how he had them all lined up on the couch. Just wait until his birthday when he gets the other 10.

Mikey fell down and Sam gives him such good love but then tries to immediately pick him up and move him to get him away from the trains.

Sam playing in the kitchen

Sam having the time of his life with almost all the trains connected to each other and all the tracks out.

OK, so how cute is that! Me and the boys gathered around the computer to watch your Christmas. Wish we could have been there...how fun! We were sweating on Christmas with temp around 78...ridiculous!

I was wondering how Sam reacted to his trains. That is so fun!
