My Boys Are Too Funny

I find my boys are extremely funny lately. Mikey is walking and it is so cute to see him so wobbly. He loves to grab things off the top of the desk. I bought some humus yesterday that I was in love with, it was roasted garlic. I kept raving to Neil about it. (A little tangent, I've never bought humus because it's supposed to be "healthy" and I get turned off by stuff like that. Well this stuff was cheap with my coupons so I thought I'd try it. So good. I love garlic and when I looked at the calories it definitely wasn't low cal so that made me feel better.) I was snacking on it and left it on the top of the desk and of course Mikey got a hold of it. I was frantically trying to clean before my VTer's came over so didn't notice. I hear him giggle so I go to see what he is up to. He has flung humus all over the kitchen walls, floor, rug and himself. He is so happy. I started laughing but also upset because my humus was gone. I did think about getting out the crackers and using them to help clean up and salvage some of it. Of course I couldn't find the camera. The only bad thing is the kitchen really smells of garlic now since it got into the rug. Hopefully Febreeze will help until I get around to shampooing it. Mikey is also starting to show is independence. He refuses to be fed. He wants to feed himself, which of course he makes the biggest mess and barely gets any food. We usually put his food on his tray and then put him in the corner to make his mess. The past 2 weeks he just throws everything on the floor, including his milk and then screams so I put him on the floor and then he eats his food off the floor. Crazy. I know I shouldn't put up with that but how do you reason with a 14 month old. My mom suggested putting his food on a plate so tonight I did and we set him at the table with us and he actually ate all his dinner and none ended up on the floor. Hopefully that problem is solved.

Ever since Sam started talking he says 10 times a day, "I'm hungry". He no longer waits for me to get up out of bed to get breakfast and has started taking matter into his own hands. I now find him many mornings sitting at the counter eating a big bowl of cereal. Yes my little Sam gets his own bowl, cereal and milk and pours it without making a mess. I find it so funny when I come down and along with his he's poured 3 other bowls for Conner, Mikey and me. They are all sitting there waiting for us. Sam is still so into his trains. He now has to wear pants with pockets so that he can put a train in each one and always have them with him. He also packs his Thomas bag with trains to take with him wherever he goes and to sleep with. He loves to help me make dinner but it's more to help himself with all the taste testing he does.

Conner is obsessed with playing the Price is Right dvd, Leapster, computer games or the generic wii. He gets to play for 30 minutes after doing 5 chores each day. He never worked before the chore chart and now as soon as he wakes up he's ready to go to work. If he's already played for the day then he pretends to play. He's the host (has the exact phrases memorized from the dvd) and I'm the contestant. We play the shell game, golden road, plinko, etc. all made out of household items or his imagination. My favorite is letterpillar. Either I'm the wall or caterpillar. If I'm the caterpillar I have to slither on the ground and gobble up letters and I have to slither or Conner complains.
At preschool, when it's someone's birthday they have a VIP day and I am so happy that since Conner's birthday is in the summer they let yesterday be his day. (I always missed having class parties since I had an August birthday and am glad he didn't have to miss out) He was so excited. We made a poster the night before and put 12 pictures on it with captions and he practiced it 5 times. He couldn't wait to tell his "friends" at school. He was so happy at school. They sang to him and he got to wear a crown which he wore all day long and was so proud to pass out the treats he brought, yummy gushers. He wasn't scared about being in front of the class at all. The other day I laid down with Conner and he rolled over to me and said, "Mommy I love you, let's snuggle" and wrapped his little arm around me. Too sweet.

The boys loving taking baths in our tub because it's big and makes tons of bubbles, especially when the jets are on. The other day I left for a sec to get Mikey dressed and when I came back Conner and Sam were pretending it was a rocket ship tub and blasting off.

My boys, gotta love them.
