Fun With Food Storage

In Orem, there were several ladies who were couponers. I remember Teri telling me about all the great deals she would get and I always felt like I was missing out but coupons never seemed to work for me. I never really saved that much money until this new website started

that gives you the coupons, where to shop to get the best deal and a tracking system. The site does all the work for you. I got really excited about the Albertson's deals. I ended up making my list and going at 11:30pm last night. Of course they were out of a lot of the stuff I wanted but I still got $110 worth of groceries for $23. I was ecstatic. I found out that they'll get there next shipment in tonight so Friday morning the shelves should be stocked. Last night I bought a bunch of hamburger and tuna helper. I have maybe made this stuff once a year but it was so cheap and I have tons of tuna that I'll probably never use so I hope it tastes okay. I also bought a bunch of fruit snacks for $.50 a box. I usually don't buy these either but they are great to have around for little rewards and they'll be great for Valentines and Conner's VIP day is this month at school so that's taken care of. I also bought a ton of yogurt, kid size. I figured if we don't eat it all before it goes bad I'll just put a popsicle stick through the top and freeze them for popsicles. The boys loved it this morning so I don't think we'll have a problem finishing it off. I also got a bunch of Fiber One granola bars and cereal. I realized that some of the stuff I bought and plan on buying I normally wouldn't buy or feed my family but I've realized at least I'll have some easy to prepare meals in my pantry and just food in general for if times get rough. We have a lot of stuff from the cannery but it all is stuff you really have to plan out to use so this will be nice. I was so worked up when I got home I had to plan out my list for tomorrow. I ended up going to bed at 1:30am but didn't wind down until after 2am. I'm still on a high today. Nothing makes me happier than a good deal and saving a dollar. So I'll be at Albertson's at 6 am tomorrow to hopefully fill my cart.
