Trick or Treating 2013

Boy has it been a busy and fun filled day.  I have been rushing from one thing to the next and am so happy to finally sit down.  I was able to go help at Mikey's school party and Conner's school party.  It was a lot of fun.  We've always had a trunk or treat on Halloween and this was the first year we haven't so I had to come up with something new to do this year.  So after a yummy and healthy dinner we set off on our way.  Our first stop was to get free cupcakes at The Sweet Tooth Fairy.

Then we went and got free smoothies at Jamba Juice.

Then we went to the mall to do trick or treating there.  We got lots of free stuff from the food court and then went on to get the candy.  Everyone just loved our costumes and someone gave Mikey a dollar for having such a great one and became the envy of his brothers.

Lucy did not get a nap today and had a meltdown about me throwing her melting ice cream away.  She was cold and tired and I asked her if she wanted to stay home with me and hand out candy.  To my surprise she agreed.  We got home at 7:15 and Neil took off with the boys and me and the girls stayed home.  Neil said the kids got so tired they would just lay on their shells in people's yard.  As they went to the door the doors they would say the following:

Trick or Treat

Smell my feet

Give me something good to eat. 

If you don't

I don't care

I'll growl like a grizzly bear.

Lucy is loving passing out the candy and opens the door about every minute to check to see if anyone is coming.  After giving the candy she tells them to say thank you if they don't but only I understand her.  It's hilarious.  I'm so glad she stayed home with me.  It was nice to have the company but she was just so stinkin' cute. I just kept giving her hugs because I couldn't get enough of her. 

The boys counting their spoils.  Sam got 221 pieces, Conner 158, Mikey 177, Lucy 52.  We're definitely making them put a big chunk away for candy houses at Christmas.

 

I can't believe Halloween is over.  Until next year.  The kids are already plotting their costumes for next year.  I told them if they really know what they want to be I'd love to start now, well maybe after Christmas when it's cold and I don't want to leave the house.  I'll need a project by then.
