The kids are always so excited when it's time for Presley to come over. As soon as we got home from church I went upstairs with the boys to help them hang their clothes up and Presley was busy helping Lucy get dressed in one of her outfits. It was so big but so cute and Lucy refused to take it off. They ended up changing their outfits 2 more times before they each settled on some of Presley's pajama's at bedtime. Neil had Lucy get into a sleeper so she'd stay warm and she threw another fit until Neil put the dress back on her on top of her pjs. Lucy has this game she plays each night about choosing which parent she wants to put her to bed. Tonight at first she wanted Neil but then she came and got me and as I went to pick her up she ran off to dad again. Neil was hugging her and I went in to say goodnight and asked Lucy for a kiss and she looks at me and says no and then looks at Neil and gives him a big smooch and hug. Oh it was funny. The games that little girl plays. Her new thing is she always wants to say the meal time prayer. We'll ask whose turn is it to say dinner and her arm shoots up and she starts screaming me, me, me and if we dont' pick her she'll yell all during prayer. The thing is she doesn't talk and will just sit there with her arms folded until tonight. She repeated every word I said. It sounded nothing like I said but at least it was a sound. I was so proud of her.
A couple funny things that were said today were as we were eating dinner Sammy asks me if there is a holiday every month. I told him no and asked why he wanted to know and his reason is because they get candy at holidays and so he can't wait for St. Patrick's Day because he knows he'll get some candy. Then he looks out the window and says I wish I were in candy heaven right now because then everything would be made out of candy. The church there would have chocolate walls and tootsie roll doors. I just wish I was in candy heaven because then I could eat all the candy I wanted. My kids are obsessed with candy and I've tried to stop it but I think I've made it worse.
Neil slept through dinner so as we were finishing up I told the kids let's surprise dad and clean up the kitchen and all the toys because if you don't the toy monster will come take them tonight. Conner looks at me and asks what is our reward for cleaning up? Before I can even rattle begin to lecture them he gives me a little smirk and sheepishly says, oh wait, our reward is a happy mother. Bingo! You've got it kid.
At dinner time, out of the blue the kids began having a roaring contest. Usually I would stop such thing but since Neil wasn't there I just let them be silly and boy were they ever.
We finished the Magician's Nephew a few weeks ago and we are almost finished reading The Horse and His Boy. The kids aren't as into this book as they were the others. It is a lot harder to understand for them. I'm hoping Prince Caspian will be better when we start that in a week. I really want to finish reading all the books in the series but only if they keep their attention.
