Archie!

Friday night Neil and I were able to go to the Mormon Tabernacle Christmas concert with special guest David Archuleta! At first we had tickets for Sunday morning but I just didn't have the heart to ask someone to watch my kids for 4 hours on a Sunday morning so we decided we just weren't going to go but lucky for us Neil's parents switched their tickets with us so we were able to go. I don't know if I was more excited to just be out with Neil alone or to see Archie. I rode the frontrunner/trax down and met Neil at 5:15. The plan was to go out to eat and then the concert but everything was already packed. We had heard that on Thursday night people with tickets had been turned away so we wanted to be there by 6:30 so we settled for the food court where the only places open were McD's, Chinese, and Sbarro. We were in a hurry and the Chinese place had a huge line, Sbarro was out of pizza which left McD's with the shortest line so I got in that line and Neil Chinese. I placed my order but then had to wait serioulsy 30 minutes for my food. It was crazy. Neil finally texted me, Nuggets or Archie? which will it be. I was starving and couldn't bear to throw $7 down the drain so I waited and scarfed it down. Absolutely disgusting but oh well. The line to the concert was also ridiculously long and I thought there's no way we're making it in. Neil had his work badge on him and said wait here in the line and let me just see if I can get us in and he was able to. Yeah! I guess there's one perk for working for the churh. I must say the concert was amazing. I just loved it.

Afterwards Archie was having a signing at Deseret Book. We figured let's stop by just to see. I'd never been to a signing before. So we got there and there was a line several blocks long to see him so there was no way we were going to stand in line. I just wanted to see him so we browsed the store waiting for him to come. Employees kept threatening to throw us out for loitering. I just wanted to see the guy and then I'd leave so we waited and waited. I thought that as soon as he entered all the little girls would start screaming but nope not a peep. I didn't even know he was there until everyone started scampering to get a picture so I ran up and when I saw him I screamed (the only one). Neil heard me and was laughing so hard. So David Archuleta is just such a cutie. I actually got to see him in person. It was a fabulous night.

Best picture I could get. He's standing under the k in Book.
