Georgia Trip

Three days after getting home from girl's camp me and the boys left to visit Nana and Poppa and Aunt Kelly and her family in Georgia. We stayed 3 weeks and Neil joined us for the last 2 weeks. Neil says it was our funnest vacation to date. It was so nice to be with family and just relax. On the way out the kids were awesome on the plane. I was just a little nervous flying with all four by myself but I really didn't think they would be too bad since they really are great kids. They sure proved it. When it was time to land in Atlanta there was an awful storm and after circling about for over an hour they flew us to Nashville where we waited on the runway for another hour and a half before we finally took off. We ended up being on the plane for 7 hours without being able to get off. The boys were troopers and everyone commented on how amazing they were and they didn't even have their dvd player to keep them occupied. Luckily I sat by the nicest man who helped me with Mikey and Lucy. He had 4 kids of his own. I know a lot of prayers went out on my behalf that day and they were totally answered. As soon as we got off the plane they were crazy running everywhere. The bad part is that when I got my double stroller, it was broken which put a damper on things.
It was always in the high 90's with a heat index some days of 112. It was really hot. We stayed inside except to swim. The boys loved eating popsicles.
Even Lucy got in the water a time or two. I'd have to say she wasn't too keen of it though.
We braved the heat and spent the day at Wild Adventures, an amusement park kind of like Lagoon. Here's Sam holding a baby alligator.

Mikey was so pooped after having no naps that he almost fell asleep on Neil's shoulders heading back to the car.
We lived in the pool. Mikey was as fearless as ever. He learned to dive this time but we didn't get any video of it. He'd also "wipeout" where he would belly flop. He would jump in without his life jacket on which would scare me to death but never him. Finally I threw him in without anything on and let him sink for awhile but still he didn't care. He'd end up bobbing up just long enough to get some air and back down he went. He makes me nervous around any body of water.
Conner learned how to swim underwater and he was so proud of himself.
We went to Jacksonville Beach and the kids loved playing in the sand. Sam found some little crabs and this live star fish. It was fun to watch it flip itself over in the sand.
Conner learned how to boogie board and that was one of Neil's favorite moments.
Mikey got so tired he finally curled up in Lucy's car seat and crashed.
The best family picture we could get. I actually got some sun but it's all faded now.
Me and my sweetheart!
Lucy spent most days either in this walker or scooting all over the floor. She was the best little baby. Mikey was also as good as gold the whole time we were there. He never had a melt down that I recall which says something. We all just had the best time.
One day we were eating dinner and my mom came out all surprised and said look what I found in my utility room. I jumped I was so startled.

Here's Mikey scooting off the diving board. I thought we got more videos of "crazy" Mike but we didn't. He definitely lived up to the name he got last summer.

The best part of the trip was that on the way home Conner and I were able to volunteer our seats twice so we now have vouchers to hopefully fly back next summer and hopefully Indiana as well if we work it just right.
