Conner Turns 6!

I think Conner had a great birthday. His teacher made a big deal at school and all his classmates made him cards which he thought was the coolest and he had Jacob come home after school and we went to the Fun Center where they bounced on inflatables, played arcade games, mini bowled and the first time ever--laser tag.

I just made cupcakes. It's the first time I haven't made a fun cake but I just don't have the time or energy. I am realizing there is a time and place for everything and my time of being a gourmet cook has ended for now. I miss it sometimes but other things are more important. I have really tried to simplify my life. I don't know if I've been that successful but as far as food goes we usually have pizza on Fridays and spaghetti on Sundays every week along with burgers from Sonic for $.49 on Tuesdays because that's mutual and I'm usually busy getting some activity ready. I never thought I'd serve the same thing week after week but it's what the kids like and it's so easy. Sorry sidetracked. Conner loved the cupcakes though since he's all about the frosting I piled it on so it probably was better than a cake in that regard just not as fun.

He got this clock that you have to figure out how to put it together and how all the gears work and once he got it together he just sat and watched it seriously for 2 hours.

Neil said this was the day he's been waiting for since Conner was born. On this day Conner built his first lego creation. Neil made Conner figure it all out but sat by and coached him through it all when he got confused.

I think the inside of Conner's brain might look a little bit like that clock :o)
He's so smart!

I think the day my child and I can play legos will be a wonderful landmark day too!
