Demolition Derby

I am so excited. We have started finishing the play room in the basement! Allison had a friend in town who is really handy and he came and framed it and then we had a friend come and put all the electrical in. Neil thinks he can do the rest himself. I am so excited because we've talked about doing this since before we bought the house and since we've talked and talked and it's finally happening. Neil took two of the existing walls down and he took the boys down there and was explaining that he was going to knock them down to make a play room and Conner looked up at him and said,"Daddy I don't think this is a very good idea." Exactly what I was thinking. Neil had wanted to do the whole room himself which he now admits he's glad he had someone to help who knew what they were doing. Each of the boys in turn took the hammer and took a couple whacks at the wall.

The other project going on in the month of April is cutting down the 14 cottonwoods in our backyard. The first bid we got was $7500 which floored us so Neil was determined to cut them down himself. Neil on a lift with a chainsaw scared the stew out of me and I was determined not to be a widow at 31. Luckily the other bids were more reasonable. Where the trees were we plan on puting in a garden and big sandbox.
