Like every other parent out there I think my kids are the greatest, smartest, funniest, etc. Conner is no exception. Yesterday in Primary he was supposed to give the scripture so of course we remember an hour before church. I was at a meeting and told Neil he had to take care of it so he did. He picked 1 Nephi 3:7. He printed the words in 36 point font on a piece of paper and Conner ended up reading the whole thing the first time through. He needed help with the word commandments and accomplish and that was it. I got home and he kept reading me the scripture over and over again. It was so funny because his class had to do opening exercises. The first girl needs help with the prayer and then Conner gets up and the leader comes to help him and he turns to her and very politely says, "That's okay, I don't need any help." He proceeds to hold his paper out in front of him like he's reading a manifesto and says the whole thing very articulately and annunciating every word just so. You've got to know Conner. I was laughing so hard. When we came out into the hall the Primary president exclaims jokingly what are you guys doing hooked on phonics and another friend says hey thanks for making the rest of our kids look stupid. I was laughing so hard.
Conner was off track the last 3 weeks and he was given homework to do which of course we waited until the last minute. One of his assignments was to write as many numbers as you can. Conner wrote and wrote and wrote and when he finally got to 150 he asked if he could stop he was so tired from writing. Now I know a way to keep him busy when he's bored.
Conner has lost his two bottom middle teeth and he couldn't be happier. I am glad that he's lost them being as he's the youngest in his class I didn't want him to feel like something was wrong when everyone else started losing teeth and he didn't. When he lost his first tooth he couldn't wait to go and tell his class. He does talk funny now though.
Conner loves the Berenstain Bears books and his favorite, which is no surprise, is Dollars and Sense. His new favorite thing is to write us all checks and we are to go shopping at his store and then he writes us a receipt. The receipt he gave Neil yesterday had his purchase with price on it and it said Thanks for Shopping at CooCoos.
Conner has always said he wants to be a banker when he grows up. I am assuming he wants to be the banker on Deal or No Deal and be the one to come up with the offers. The other day out of the blue he said Mommy when I grow up I want to be a Daddy--melted my heart. I told him that's the best thing he could be but he'd have to mary someone as wonderful as his mommy first of course.

Reuben hasn't lost any teeth yet, also being one of the youngest in his class :) we'll see if we get any this year or if we have to wait another while. I love the receipt! classic.
