Valentine's Celebrations

Neil and I started the celebrations off by attending our stake valentine's dance.  We had a lot going on and at the last minute were hesitating about going, opting to stay home and work on some projects but in the end we wanted to support it and decided we'd just stay for about 45 minutes.  Well we ended up staying until the end.  We had so much fun.  We danced a bunch, something we don't do enough of.  They would stop the music for a little bit and play some Minute to Win It Games and the Newlywed Game, which was nice to be able to catch your breath and it was just fun to watch.  At the end they had karoke and we got up with a group from our ward and sang a song.  I am so glad we went.  Can't wait for next year.
You would think that making Valentine's boxes and cards were required major projects.  We stayed up until 10:30 helping the boys make theirs.  Sam and Mikey made Pokemon characters, Pikachu and Zygarde and Conner make a box out of Legos with a smiley face on top and the sides had hearts.

To celebrate as a family we went to the Layton city's Valentine's dance with our friends the Nichols.  We also had fun dancing with the kids.  Lucy and Eliza were in heaven.  Sam's friend Carson was there so they had fun being goofy together.  Conner enjoyed dancing as well but Mikey would have nothing to do with it.  He has a little anxiety and feels everyone is watching him.  I told him we could not leave until he danced one dance with me so that got him on the floor.

They had a raffle and Conner won a game called the Family Challenge.  Mikey had 3 tickets and just sat at the table hoping they would call his number and they never did.  It was 15 minutes before the dance ended and they still had several prizes so James Nichols went up to the raffler and asked them to please call one of Mikey's numbers.  They said that they couldn't do that but soon the lady came over and looked at Mikey's numbers and said they had actually called his number earlier but he must have missed it so he could pick a prize.  He picked the Bee movie.  That was so sweet of James.  He is going to an interview in Texas this week and they may be moving and I am pretty sad.  Is it bad that I'm praying that he finds a job here so that they stay.  I love Kate and it's not very often you find a really good friend.
