Sunday Fun

Besides going to church and being spiritually renewed, my favorite part of the day is being home and spending it together as a family.  Since we have 11 o'clock church we have some time in the morning.  A moment to be remembered forever was during family scripture study, Mikey got the giggles and as he let it out, it came with a huge wad of snot that hung from his nose.  It was so funny and Mikey got pretty embarrassed but it was hilarious.  Today Conner really wanted to play the game he had won at the dance and so we did.  It's a game with over 100 different challenges that you compete in.  It was Conner and Sam against Neil and I.  Unfortunately Conner and Sam beat us.  It was a fun little game with a lot of smack talking going on.  We were supposed to stop at 9:45 but the game didn't end until after 10 and so it was a rush to get ready for church.  Everyone is well aware that mom gets to take the first shower because it takes me longer to get ready and I have to do two little girls' hair.  Well as soon as the game is done Neil hops up and runs yelling up the stairs, "I get the first shower!"  I scream and chase him up the stairs and the kids are laughing.  I heard Sam say this is awesome.  So Neil got in the shower first, which I wasn't too happy with so I got a pitcher of ice cold water and instead of me pouring it on him I included Sam in my evil plan.  There is no way Neil would retaliate on Sam.  That's just cruel.  So Sam got Neil good and we are all laughing hysterically.  The kids think this is great.  Silly me, forgets that there are two other showers in the house and jumps in the boys making sure I not only lock the door, but pull the drawer out so no one is able to get in.  As I am showering I hear someone trying to unlock the door and finally get it just to be thwarted in their revenge as the door blocks their entering.  I am dying laughing.  So Neil did not get his revenge yet but the day will come and I will be watching my back.  I am glad the kids were able to see this fun side of marriage and hope that they realize marriage is wonderful, fun and full of joy and something that they strive to have.  I love my sweetheart!  I couldn't have picked a better man to ride this rollercoaster called life with.
