Conner's Special Day

On September 1st Conner chose to be baptized. It was such a special day for our special son.  To better prepare ourselves we decided to go as a family the day before to the Brigham City Temple Open house.  What a beautiful temple and place to be.  As we were walking through Conner stopped and told us he felt really warm inside and that he liked that feeling.  I am so glad he is beginning to recognize the spirit.

On the day of his baptism, as always we were running behind and forgot to get any pictures with his grandparents.  We were so happy that both sets of grandparents could be here to witness this special event.  Nana spoke on baptism and Grandma Hibbert spoke on the Holy Ghost.  Grandpa Hibbert and Poppa said the opening and closing prayers and were the witnesses.

We are just so proud of Conner and the wonderful boy he is.  He has been a complete joy to raise.  He is just so sweet and kind to others.  He has always been a very obedient child.  It was funny.  During Nana's talk she was talking about repentance and trying to get Conner to say something he's done wrong and he couldn't. which is pretty much the truth.  He's just a very good boy.

After the baptism we had all the family over for lunch.  It was on the verge of storming and there were some beautiful double rainbows.

Once everyone left we went to Menchies to complete our celebration.  The rainbows were so gorgeous, Neil didn't join us for awhile because he was just in awe.  What a wonderful way to end such a special day and what a wonderful reminder of being clean again.

I like to look for rainbows whenever there is rain.
And ponder on the beauty of an earth made clean again.
I want my life to be as clean as earth right after rain.
I want to be the best I can and live with God again.
For the Primary program Conner has been asked to bear his testimony about baptism.  Today was our first practice and Conner struggled and stressed and prayed about what to say all week.  Neil and I offered him many suggestions but he would never write anything down.  Since it was his testimony we didn't want to write it for him.  So when it was time for his part I was so nervous.  I was sure he was going to break down because he didn't have anything prepared but he totally shocked me.  He got up there and confidently said the following (I'll do my best to remember):
My name is Conner Hibbert and I'd like to bear my testimony about baptism.  When I got baptized it was a very special day because a lot of my family got to be there.  My favorite part was the warm water.  It was so nice I didn't want to get out.  I loved that feeling.  I am so glad I got to be baptized and I think that if you haven't been baptized yet you need too because it is great.  In the name of Jesus Christ amen.
