Saint Patrick's Day

The kids were so excited for St. Patrick's Day this year. They had planning traps for several weeks. They came into our bedroom bright and early pinching us as we didn't have any green on. Neil and I had an 8 am Trek meeting to be at so we took it easy in the morning. As the kids went downstairs they found that those pesky leprechauns had overturned everything in our kitchen and left bags of Lucky Charms for them to eat for breakfast. They immediately checked the fridge to see if the milk was safe and it was. They heard a noise upstairs and went to catch the leprechaun so it left Lucy and me in the kitchen. Lucy was strapped down in her chair and I went to get something out of the garage. When we all came back the milk was green. We all started screaming and couldn't believe they had tricked up again. Lucy was the only eye witness and when asked if she saw the leprechaun she smiled so big and shook her head enthusiastically yes! Way to play along Lucy. It was so perfect.
The leprechauns and kids left notes for each other all day long. Here's one that Conner wrote.
The boys searched for the leprechauns all day long and Neil felt bad that they never caught one. Like last year the milk, bread and toilet water were turned green but this year they were sent on a scavenger hunt searching for gold coins at the end they each got a bag full of rainbow skittles with rolos. It was a fun day but stressful because everyone had such high expectations after last year. So many friends and family kept asking me what I was going to do this year and I wasn't sure. There was no way I could top last year because it was spontaneous and just happened so when it was time for dinner I just didn't want to do any more tricks so I told the kids I didn't want the leprechauns to ruin my dinner like everything else and so we were going out to dinner which was a treat.
