It was game day today so Conner brought 3D Blokus, Othello and Smath. He stayed up until 11:20 finishing his game for Ms. Allen and she played it with him and he beat her to the finish by 3 spaces. He was pretty happy about that. He also thought it was cool that they cleaned their tables with shaving cream. I got a little emotional when I picked him up from school. It hit me that he's getting bigger and I can't stop it. Before I know it he'll be a teenager. I looked at him and said, "Conner now you're a second grader I can't believe it. I don't know what to do with a second grader; I've never had one before." He gave me a sheepish smile and said, "But mom you were a second grader once, it's okay, you'll remember."
He did great on his end of level/CRT testing receiving 100% in every area tested. I was surprised but he said most kids got 100%. He ended at a 4.5 math level on Success Maker. He's such a smart kid but no surprise, look at his parents. I don't feel smart anymore but back in the day I was. Now my sister Kelly is probably the smartest person you'll ever meet. I love when she says that and she says it to her students all the time and it really is the truth.

Seriously??? You wrote I tell my kids I'm the smartest person they'll ever meet??? While it's true (haha) it is always said tongue-in-cheek :) Believe me, after this month, I feel like the stupidest woman EVER!!!! But thanks for the vote of confidence, sis! Can't wait to see you next week :)
