Our New Dishwasher

We finally decided on the Bosch dishwasher and I couldn't be more happy. The salesman at Sears was really trying to push us to buy a Kenmore that was $250 less (don't they work on commission?) but I didn't feel good about it and the reviews weren't that great. It was installed on Friday, after 3 hours. The one thing that was upsetting is that we paid to get it installed (basically that covers plugging it in and hooking it up to the water line). Sears never mentioned it may cost more once the service people get here. Well it did and quite a bit more, actually double what we already paid which we weren't expecting. But once it was in I couldn't wait to run it but Neil made me wait until the next day when it was full. We both sat on the floor and watched and listened. It's supposed to be almost silent. We liked that it has it's own motor that heats the water to 160 degrees and if anyone knows how I am about food borne illness, this was a huge selling point. While it's filling and heating the water it's a moderate noise but once it starts washing you can't hardly hear it. It's great and the dishes come out so clean. The previous dishwasher was 15 years old and did not clean the dishes unless you prewashed them and then what's the point. The instruction manual said to not prerinse, only scrape off large pieces of food so that's what I did. I had a bowl covered in dried pancake batter, bowls with dried on oatmeal (you know how hard these are to get off by hand), syrup covered plates as well as plates with dried on ranch dressing and ketchp and everything came out sparkling and the machine only used 7 gallons of water! I don't know how that's possible. Anyway, I am very happy about this machine. Now I can't wait to replace the stove, but Neil says I have to wait for that to break and be unfixable. Come on I love to cook and I'd love to have a stove and oven that I love. I really want a freestanding double oven. I can't tell you how many times a double oven would come in handy.
