Provo City Center Temple Open House

We took advantage of a day off of school and picked Neil up and went to the Provo City Center Open House.  It's such a beautiful building.  I remember when I was going to BYU, I attended several concerts at the tabernacle.  It caught on fire in December 2010 and all thought the building was lost but the exterior remained in good condition and so it was announced it would be renovated into a temple of the Lord.  How exciting.  They tried to replicate the original interior.  I just loved all the dark wood and spiral staircase.  I'm amazed at the talent of those who did all the handiwork inside.  Craftmanship you just don't see in current homes and buildings.  I'm glad the art has been preserved.  As we were leaving the tour we went through the exhibits and there was a huge Christus statue.  Eliza went up to it and Neil pointed out that it was Jesus and she looked up at him with his arms open wide and she said, "Huggies!" and wanted to give him a hug.  Out of the mouth of babes.  Isn't that what the Lord will do when he sees us, is give us a big hug.  I've never thought of that when I've seen the Christus.  I'm always full of reverence and humility but the love that Eliza showed in her expression of hugs is full of warmth and is so personable and more in tune of my visions of our Savior.
