Sam had another game last night and he tried really hard to hit the ball with not much luck. On his last and final swing of the night he actually connected slightly with the ball and he heard a little clink and he was ecstatic. He ran to me cheering, "I touched the ball. I touched the ball!" That gave him a lot of confidence and I reassured him that with more practice he would really hit the ball soon. He got even more excited and began to practice swinging saying he may just become the best hitter on the team. To help him practice hitting, Neil rigged up a ball hanging from a string that he can hit. Just don't come in the gate unannounced when he's swinging or you may get hit. Speaking of getting hit, last night Sam played pitcher. Sometimes he would not pay attention to what he was doing and throw a pretty wild ball to the pitcher. One of those times he actually hit the batter with the ball in the back of the head when he was trying to throw it to the pitcher. Ouch. I think everyone was glad the kids have to wear helmets.
Sam has now finished baseball and actually started hitting the ball every game so he definitely improved. After going to all these baseball games Conner wants to play next year. I don't know if I can take 3 in baseball next year. We'll have to see how it goes.
We were painting this morning and singing our hearts out to some songs and I got up and started busting a move. Mikey looks at me and says, "Mom, those are some strange dance moves." What? I'm a good dancer. At least I used to think to. Just another reminder I'm going downhill.
