Surrounded By Nice People

We had such a woozy of a day yesterday but we were surrounded by such kind people that were willing to help that I just had to count my blessings at the end of the day.  The family room has been a disaster since Saturday with my mess of papers that I've been trying to organize and sort through.  Something else always comes up and I haven't gotten to it.  I needed to make some cupcakes for Sam's soccer party and chose to make some chocolate ones and tried a new recipe.  They were not very chocolaty and I was so disappointed.  I love me some chocolate.  I had made 65 and didn't want to start over so I boosted their flavor by making and adding some ganache to the top
and then some caramel frosting.  They tasted pretty good then.  I made some chocolate soccer balls to put on top.  My friend Lauren called to see if Mikey could play which helped.  Lucy and I worked on the cupcakes.

When I picked up Mikey I ended up talking to Lauren a little too long as Lucy was in the back of the van crying she wanted to go home.  I didn't know I needed to talk to anyone but I guess I did and it was nice to have someone listen.  We had a lot going on that night.  Mikey had a baseball game at 6, Sam had his soccer party at 6, which Neil was in charge of since he was the coach and Conner had a pack meeting at 7.  It was 5:30 and Neil wasn't home so I called him and woke him up on the bus.  He had slept through his stop and was in Riverdale.  I needed to go get him and doing so would make Mikey late for his game and Sam was going to be late for the party no matter what.  I started yelling for everyone to get in the car.  Neil called back and said I didn't need to get him.  He had called to make an appointment with the Bishop and somehow it came up that he had missed his stop and the secretary, Brother Johnson was on his way home from work in Ogden so he offered to pick Neil up.  Yay!  Mikey made it to his game in plenty of time.  Brother Johnson was dropping Neil off at the mall to get the Nissan when Neil remembered he had missed the bus in the morning and caught it in Kaysville so the car was in Kaysville.  He didn't want to ask him to drive him there so he went home to get the stuff for the soccer game.  He asked our neighbor if she would drive him to the party and she offered him her van.  Great he made it to the party 15 minutes late but realized the trophies were in the Nissan in Kaysville.  That's all the boys really wanted anyway.  He mentioned it to some friends who were on the team and Dave Morris volunteered and went to get the trophies and made it back before 7.  So the boys were high on sugar and thrilled to have a trophy.  It all worked out thanks to so many wonderful people.  We also made it to the pack meeting but about 15 minutes late.  I promise we're not this flaky all the time.  I blame it on lack of sleep from having a newborn.  Thanks Eliza!  On a side note, her acne is clearing up.  The doctor told me to put hydro cortisone cream on it along with Aquaphor and within two days it's almost cleared up.  Hallelujah.  Her baby smooth cheeks are fast approaching and I won't be able to keep my lips off them.
