Mikey was so excited for his birthday. He counted down for over a month. The eve of his birthday before he went to bed he told me I needed to wake him up early and sing him happy birthday. His birthday landed on a Sunday so he opened his presents that morning. Grandma Hibbert came up on Monday and brought him more presents and then we had his party on Tuesday so it was a 3 day celebration. What a lucky little boy.
He was so excited to get a dream light. He has been named Happie.
Well hello Captain Rex. This little boy loves to dress up.
We had cupcakes on Sunday. I tried to make 7 minute frosting but it would not set up and I was so disappointed but the kids absolutely loved it and said it was the best ever. Good thing it tasted yummy.
I have to give a shout out to the internet. It makes me look like such a creative mom. Conner had a Ninjago party and I made a bunch of stuff for it and I thought it was understood that all the boys would have Ninjago parties but about a week and a half before his birthday Mikey said he wanted to have a Wild Kratts party. A what? It's his favorite show on PBS all about animals and I was at a loss of what to do but lo and behold there was no need to fear. The internet had the answer. I got all my ideas from their. I invited 6 little boys hoping 3 would come but they all showed up and with my 4 we had 10 kids. I made everyone a creature power vest out of fleece and 10 creature power discs that went along with the party games. We only had time to play 6 of them.
What's a party without a pinata? I have become quite the pro at making them. I made this spider a little too strong and it was really hard to break but the candy inside was worth the wait.
Getting their butterfly power on. Each one was wrapped in toilet paper (cocoo) and they had to break free.
Kangaroo Power! Just a potato sack race. Those vests took awhile to make but were such a hit. They only cost $1.25 to make and a much better party favor than a bag of junky toys.
I just decorated Mikey's cake to look like a spider creature power disc.
This was probably the funnest party we've thrown. Give it up for Wild Kratts. Mikey had such a great time. We sure do love him.
