I wish I had the camera right now because Lucy is cracking me up. I've been "trying" to french bread her hair in two side braids so today I took the braids out and her hair is so kinky and she loves it so I put a headwrap on her and she's wearing a sundress and she looks like a little hippie to me with wild woman hair. She is standing in the family room in front of her vanity mirror singing her little heart out. I have no idea what she is singing or saying but she spreads her arms out wide like when an opera singer is holding a long note and then will bow and twirl. She is such a funny girl. I don't know where she got this act from but maybe it's because I've been singing I've Dreamed a Dream for Les Miserable nostop. I heard the musical is coming to movie theaters in December and I can't wait to see it. I've never seen the movies or musical on stage but have just heard great things about it. Since I don't like to see a movie until I've read the book I have begun reading it, all 1443 pages of it. I'm on page 300 and I have never been filled with such deep emotions before as I've read a book. In one moment my heart is so sad and heavy and then the next it is so happy. Neil doesn't want to talk about the book because he wants to read it. I can totally see why the story has stood the test of time. I have no idea where it is going or how it going to end but I love it. It's not an easy read and beings as I already read slow I'm hoping to finish it by December. Neil's a little nervous for me to be reading such a big book because the house is neglected when I read but at least I am able to put this book down. The last two books I read recently were the first two in the Mysterious Benedict Society series. I bought them for Conner to read this summer since they were about 4 gifted kids who are sent on special missions. They were good and enjoyable. They are over 400 pages each so I don't know if he's up to that yet. Just a note we did finish reading Prince Caspian with the kids and started The Dawn Treader but they kind of lost interest in that one early on so we're taking a break from the Chronicles of Narnia. With the new Lord of the Rings Legos coming out they want to start reading those books as a family. I'm pretty sure that's not age appropriate but I'm sure if they pester long enough we'll give in.
Friday is my grocery shopping day and I take the 3 youngest with me and they do great. We're usually gone for about 3 hours. It just takes longer with kids. We first go to Costco and they get to have some of the samples so that makes them happy and then we go to Winco and they get to choose some candy from the bulk bins that they get if they are good and then we go to Walmart to price match anything we were not able to get. Well Mikey being on a high from the pirate party wore his pirate costume again to the stores including the eye patch and hook. Once again he would go up to complete strangers and hook them. Most people laughed and thought it was cute but there was one lady who didn't appreciate it. No matter how often I told him to please stop he continued right on. He said he liked scaring the people. Good thing he is so stinking cute.
Sam's new thing is to spell everything out instead of saying it so all day long he'll stay stuff like mom C-A-N capital I S-T-A-Y U-P or W-H-E-R-E I-S C-O-N-N-E-R? This is a new one for me. I wonder if he just does it so Mikey doesn't know what he is saying. It makes me laugh because I have to stop and think about what he is spelling. Speaking of Sam he is such a sweetheart. I was ironing something to wear and he came and asked if that was what I was wearing and I said yes. Sam says oh, that's cute mom. That will look really nice. I think he knows I struggle with my wardrobe so it made me feel good.

Sam cracks me up! That is so funny. And how could ANYONE be mad at a cute little boy like Mikey. They have such fun personalities!
