Little Boys' Paradise

We were able to spend 1 1/2 weeks in Georgia with Nana, Poppa, Kelly, DJ, Mitch and Gavin. We all had such a good time. Sammy did not want to go home and the day before we left kept saying I'm not going home, not never. I'm going to stay with Nana and Poppa and then the night we got home he just cried and cried in his bed kicking and screaming about how he didn't want to be here (home). Who wouldn't want to stay with Nana and Poppa, everytime I turned around they had treats in their hand, got to watch whatever shows they wanted, went swimming everyday, usually twice and basically got to do whatever they wanted. They had the time of their lives. My parents live on 5 acres and have a really long driveway. Neil kept saying I feel like I'm in the forest or at a campground because he was surrounded by so many trees. The boys had fun riding bikes and throwing sticks and pinestraw in the pond. I didn't get as much sleep as I had hoped and am still pretty tired since I stayed up so late. I just didn't want to miss out on anything. I only get to see my parents once, sometimes a year, so I just wanted to be with them. Here are some pictures of our trip.

Me and the boys went a week before Neil so I had all the boys on the plane by myself. Luckily there were some empty seats and Mikey was able to sit in his car seat but Conner had to sit across from us by himself. He sat by a man who obviously didn't have grandkids because Conner kept turning to him and asking him if he would play Millionaire with him and then would proceed to tell him how to play. The man just closed his eyes and tried to ignore him. Seriously didn't give him the time of day but Conner was persistent. I couldn't look over because I was laughing so hard. I could hear Conner and thought it was just so funny. The man never did play with him. The boys were so good on the two flights which I am so grateful for. There was this one elderly lady who must have walked past be 5 times, I think just to see all the boys, and kept making comments about how King Henry the 8th would have loved me and that I wouldn't have been beheaded. Anyway, random but made me laugh.

As we were in the airport in Pheonix, Sam and Conner took turns pulling their Thomas bag which was full of all their toys. In Atlanta, Mikey was insistent that he have a turn and cried and screamed until he got his way. He was so happy to be pulling his own wieght. We had to walk pretty slow since his legs don't go to fast. It took us 30 minutes to get from our plane to baggage claim. At least our bags were already waiting for us when we finally got there. So many people stopped and ooed and ahhed at him. He is such a stubborn little boy.

The boys got to go swimming everyday and never got tired of it.

Mikey got the nickname Crazy Mike, because he was just fearless. Conner had to inch himself up to the diving board first jumping off the side, then sitting on the diving board and pushing off and finally jumping off but not Mikey he went straight for the board and ran and jumped. Totally fearless.

Sam always wanted to swim but only if he was in this baby float and there was no way of him tipping over. He was pretty scared. A couple of times he would get out and walk in the shallow end but not very often.

Crazy Mike and his goggles.

Here is he running and jumping

Conner was a little fish and if he would have been there longer I bet he would have learned how to swim. He's real good at doggy paddling.

When just jumping off the board got boring he had to try diving head first. He never once cried or got scared, even when one of his floaties came off or when he'd fall off and hit the sidewalk or his head. What's this kid going to be doing when he's twelve.

Everyone getting ready for the big jump, splash.

Crazy Mike going head first.

Crazy Mike jumping off the diving board.

The boys had fun dressing up in batman mask and scaring us.

And Nana had a cape for everyone. Conner would run down the long hallway and jump doing a belly flop trying to fly. Crazy kid.

Mikey totally stole the show. He was so fun and cute the whole time which was a complete change from when I was there 6 months ago. I was so nervous about how he was going to be but he totally put on his best behavior. I was honestly in awe. His mean eyes only came out about twice and he never hit the whole time we were there. Now that we're back he's up to his old tricks. He too loved being spoiled and getting his way.

Uncle DJ took Conner and Sam fishing for the first time. Boy was it hot.

They each caught 2 fish and DJ breaded and cooked them for dinner for the boys.

There was a candy drawer and Mikey was just tall enough to reach his little hand in there and grab something. He couldn't see what he was getting but he knew it would be good. By the end of our trip Nana had to move the candy to another location.

Nana took the boys to the city park which was just perfect for them.

One day it just poured awhile and the boys wanted to go out and play in the puddles. Got to love the Georgia rain. By the time we got outside it wasn't raining that hard.

The trip wouldn't be complete without a tractor ride with Poppa around the yard. Mikey is standing up and driving with Conner and Sam in the trailer.
Probably the best part of the trip was that I never had to cook, my poor mom. I really didn't even help but every night the food magically appeared on the table and everyone was happy. What can I say I was on vacation.
