Mud, Suds and Floods

What a way to start off the first day of summer vacation.  The city was having what they call Mud, Suds and Floods.  It was an obstacle course where the kids first ran through mud, then slid down a huge slip n' slide of bubbles into a big pool of bubbles and then were rinsed off by the fire department.  All I can say is it was a little boy's dream come true, not so much for our little girl as you will see from the pictures.  The kids had a blast.  I am so glad Neil took them.  I had to stay home with Eliza.  She has Roseola.  Now for the plethora of pictures.
They started out with a dunk tank.

 Conner went in 5 times.

 The water was freezing cold.
Sam's best friend from school was there making it all the better.

Waiting anxiously for the race to begin.
 Starting through the mud.

Now down the slide of bubbles.
Lucy starts out happy, thinking this is fun.
As she gets deeper she begins to hate it and just wails.  This poor guy had to help her out of the mud.
 Get me out of here!
Trying to get cleaned up.  Neil had to hold her down to get her hosed off.
When all was done she ran over to safety and stayed there and watched from a distance.

Conner's ready to go.

It's probably a good thing I wasn't there because I think I would have been going crazy at all the mud.  There's no way to get it out of the clothes.  Oh well I think this memory was definitely worth the stains.

Neil told me about this - Looks so fun, we might do a smaller version as part of a summer party!
