This year the kids wanted to go with the Lego movie theme. We had grand plans for our costumes and I actually bought the material two months ahead of time so I would get started and have to finish but that was a lofty goal. The motivation just wasn't there. The kids began to worry and started coming up with alternate costumes just in case. Mikey prayed every night in his prayers that I would get the costumes made.
So I ended up going the easy route and making very simple costumes and just using stuff we already had as well.
Sam was bad cop.
Conner decided to wear his Bowser costume to the family skate night. Thank goodness we have tons of costumes waiting in the wings for exactly these moments.
I fell asleep one night and Neil didn't have the heart to wake me up and ended up carving the pumpkins with all the kids.
So here we are: Neil as Lord Business, Eliza as Unikitty, Mikey as Emmett, Conner as Vitruvious, Sam as Bad Cop and Lucy as Wyldstyle.
We did go to J&J's and got our free huge pumpkins. Conner and Sam were at a scout activity and missed out but it was actually really nice just having the 3 youngest.
We went to the Syracuse Pumpkin Walk with our friends the Nichols. They have 2 boys and 2 girls so all the girls went in one van and all the boys went in another. Too bad us girls got lost. Thanks Siri for the bad directions.
We took the kids to the Layton City Halloween party. It's going to be so sad when the kids outgrow all these activities.
I spray painted Lucy's hair black hoping there might be some resemblance to her momma but still nope.
We went out trick or treating around the neighborhood with our friends the Nichols and just left the cauldron of candy on the front porch. As always the kids got a hall and loved every minute of it. One house in the neighborhood was out frying scones for everyone instead of candy. Now that was awesome!
